Hello all,

David- Thank you for letting me know about the new GNU/Linux meetup. I
reached out to the organizer a couple days ago, but haven't heard back yet.

Our group ("Libre Boston") has been quiet since we lost our Akamai space,
but we recently kicked things off again:
https://www.meetup.com/desktop-linux-users-group/events/258988506/

We met last month at Artisan's Asylum and are planning meetings for April
and May. We are skipping March to focus on Libre Planet.

In terms of space, we can get space at Artisan's Asylum so that's where we
will meet going forward although we may try to mix things up. I might be
able to get space from a co-working place where I work as well. Our issue
was really more of burnout than space. After my second child was born, I
couldn't keep up with organizing the events. Hats off to BLU because you
guys stay organized and keep things going, and it's not easy.

We now have more people working on our organization, primarily Chris
Thompson and Devin Ulibarri, and I'm more in the backseat to their capable
hands, so I'm optimistic about seeing Libre Boston flourish once again. Our
focus has shifted somewhat from purely "desktop" to "desktop" plus applying
the principles of free software to help the community. Devin is
spearheading a project to provide laptops and workshops to an under-served
Boston public school, for example.

Sorry for my long stretch of radio silence on these lists, but I'm happy to
reconnect. We are open to doing more collaboration with the main BLU,
cross-promoting events, etc.

Best wishes to you all,
Will
