Hi,
I am forwarding this request on behalf of Alan Field and Donna Wainwright
who heroically gather, check out, transport, install and maintain used Mac
computers in South Africa and have done so for several years. These two have
really made a difference.
If you have any older Mac software, especially the Science software
requested below, please contact Alan at alanfield at comcast.net as soon as
possible as he leaves on the 28th.
Although it might be too late for this shipment, Alan brings G3 and above
computers for this effort. Contact him directly to see if you have anything
matching his needs.
Alan and Donna are a viable reminder that recycling may take effort and
creativity but the shared riches can be put to much good. Please spread this
appeal to those who might welcome it.
MacWoburn User Group also collects and distributes used Macs. Please contact
P.A.M. Borys at trainer at mac.com if you or someone you know has a need or if
you have equipment which is going unused. A local school is looking for 2
original iMacs at this time.
Thanks for your help,
P.A.M. Borys

Dear educational technology friends,
We are rather late to be asking this question as we are leaving Feb
28 for South Africa, but last spring some schools asked us for
specific kinds of science software we did not have.
Specifically they were looking for, at about 5th-12th grade levels,
programs on:
Physics
Electricity
Motion
Biology
Environmental Science
Chemistry
It would need to be pretty old (90s vintage) software and for Macs to
run on our machines. Preferably on floppies and not on CDs as many
of our machines cannot store large programs.
Maybe this is a good match as schools here probably don't want their
disk based 90s vintage software any more.
Do you have/know of any such programs available for donation to our project?
Thanks,
Alan
