Actually it was shot from a spot standing in the middle of an amusement park, over which it appeared. You can see one of the attractions in the video. It clearly is not a mark on a surface in front of the camera, as the smoke from another attraction in the background obscures parts of the ring as the video goes on. It is definitely some sort of object in the sky. Whether or not it is extraterrestrial is another matter... Another thing that makes it interesting is that it has garnered substantial news media attention (e.g. from CNN). There are also reports of extremely similar events occuring in the 1950's. Digging into this some more, it seems that park officials said it is a smoke ring produced by the park's volcano attraction. This seems very likely, although it's a bit odd... if you watch the trees in the video, and the white smoke closer to the camera, there are some indications that the weather is at least a bit breezy. However the black ring shows no signs of dissipating smoke, even after more than a minute of video, plus whatever amount of time it took the witness to get her camera ready and start shooting. -- Derek D.
