I don't think I saw you mention what your intended application was, but I would point out that what isn't relevant today might well be tomorrow. I remember thinking when DVD drives were first being offered en masse with new machines that I had no use for that as I had no interest in watching DVDs on my computer. Today, most software of any substance is shipped on DVD... Getting a machine with a Blu-ray drive now may well extend the effective life of the machine. -- Derek D.
