<br>Fidelity Investments Systems Company (FISC) has a current opportunity<br>for a Principal Systems Services & Support Analyst (Unix<br>Administrator) focused on maintaining critical production systems<br>running AIX for key business units. This position may be located in

<br>any one of the following locations: Boston, MA, Marlborough, MA,<br>Merrimack, NH, Dallas, TX or Westlake, TX.<br><br><br>Duties & Responsibilities:<br><br>• Maintain critical systems for a key business units supported by FISC

<br>Operations.  Perform AIX operating system upgrades, installations, and<br>support application migrations.  Perform basic operating systems<br>support functions.<br>• Provide for highly available and reliable systems to critical

customers through attention to detail, thorough planning and procedures, and accurate documentation. • Respond quickly to customer requests while strictly following all required change policies and procedures.

• Ensure the customer adheres to corporate standards and does not expose themselves to unnecessary risks. • Ensure customers systems conform to all security requirements and address any audit related items in a timely manner.

<br><br>• Participates substantively in strategic customer planning of new<br>implementations and migrations of existing platforms.<br>• Meet regularly with customers and address any concerns, provide<br>timely updates of action items, and escalate to management any serious

<br>issues arising with the customer.<br>• Work with-in a technical team of Unix System Administrators.<br>• Perform oncall duties required and support change work that will<br>include nights and weekends at times.<br>• Interact with vendors and other support teams to resolve technical

<br><br>• Ability to perform as a team member, adapt quickly to changes, and<br>be accommodating to the customer yet firm on corporate standards and<br>policies.<br><br><br>3+ years experience with at least three of the following:

<br><br>• Providing customer support for critical systems in an operational environment.<br><br>• Performing AIX operating system maintenance, performance tuning and<br>troubleshooting.<br><br>• Working with vendors to analyze system outages or errors, identify

<br>root cause, apply appropriate maintenance and validate remediation of<br>the issue.<br><br>• Support of IBM's Power4 and/or Power5 Technologies.<br><br>• Support and configuration of AIX Logical Volume Manager (LVM)<br>

volumes and filesystems.<br><br>• Support and configuration of Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) volumes<br>and filesystems.<br><br>5+ years experience with some or all of the following:<br>• Senior IBM AIX administration skills; intimately familiar with AIX 

5.X.<br>• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.<br>• Solid understanding of Unix security.<br>• Strong scripting skills including knowledge of shell scripts, Perl<br>programming, and ssh.<br><br>• A solid understanding of High Availability concepts, processes, and

<br>procedures.<br>• A solid understanding of networking, distributed computing concepts,<br>storage area networks and other forms of shared storage, system<br>partitioning using LPARs, the design of large shared filesystem

<br>layouts.<br>• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing<br>proposals, acting as a customer liaison, making presentations to<br>customers or peers, and working closely with upper management<br><br>

Desirable: • Intimately familiar with Veritas Cluster Server or some equivalent High Availability Clustering Technology. • Intimately familiar with IBM HACMP and add-on products. • A degree in computer science or a related field.
