i am truly puzzled.  i have several several machines on a
local net behind a netgear router connected through a
cable modem.  i have several hosting accounts on
telesto.affordablehost.com, and up until now, have had no
problem ssh'ing into the various accounts.  now, however,
when i try, from my locally netted machine mizar

  ssh telesto.affordablehost.com

the command hangs (and eventually times out).  however,
the command (to another host)

  ssh luna.affordablehost.com

does not hang, asks for a password, etc.  all ok.

from sirius, another machine on my local net ssh works fine
into both hosts.

on mizar, i moved .ssh/known_hosts out of the way and that
changed nothing.  what have i done?  where should i look?
