   Actually, so will QtParted/ntfsresize.  I recently used 
SystemRescueCd (http://www.sysresccd.org/) to shrink the primary XP
partition on a ThinkPad T41.  This was a day after I gave the user a
new machine when he decided the drive needed to be sliced up.  I could
have spent a few hours starting from scratch, but decided to attempt
a quick-n-dirty resize first.  It worked beautifully and couldn't have
taken more than 20 minutes.
