the last (known) problem resulting from my belated upgrade to rh9.0 is that fetchmail seems not to work. my old perl script for popping mail still works ok, but for various reasons i'd rather continue using fetchmail. my .fetchmailrc file looks like this: # .fetchmailrc poll pop.rcn.com protocol pop3 username jdm34 password xxxxxxxx smtp host localhost and here's what i get after invoking fetchmail: 1 message for jdm34 at pop.rcn.com (5958 octets). reading message jdm34@pop.rcn.com:1 of 1 (5958 octets) fetchmail: fetchmail: getaddrinfo(host.smtp) fetchmail: SMTP connect to localhost failed fetchmail: SMTP transaction error while fetching from pop.rcn.com fetchmail: Query status=10 (SMTP) is the problem obvious to anyone? don't know what has changed. it worked under rh7.3. dan j. daniel moylan 84 harvard ave #2 brookline, ma 02446-6202 617-232-2360 (tel) 810-454-1823 (fax) jdm@moylan.info www.moylan.info
