-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 At some point hitherto, Dean Anderson hath spake thusly: > I don't want to bust your bubble, because its off the line of discussion, > but New England farmstands frequently aren't really farms. You seem to be confusing "New England" and "Boston" -- The area that I grew up in (greater Lowell) has several towns which are home for some very large farms. Dracut, Tyngsboro, Dunstable, Westford, and other surrounding towns all have substantial farm acreage (though a lot of it is dairy farms). And most of New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine are littered with farmland. Having worked in the produce department of several stores of a local supermarket chain, I've personally ordered fresh produce from several local farms, and can tell you that during the summer months, local farms often make up a substantial source of your local market's produce, at least in this area. It's fresher, and it's usually cheaper too.
