In practice, it probably won't matter, since many routers' and hosts' IP stacks now drop source routed packets for security reasons. IIRC, Source routing tells the recipient's replies to follow the path the sender took to get to the recipient. You can't specify the hops. But I may be mistaken. The problem with this, of course, is that it greatly aids those who are trying to spoof IPs.
