RH 6.0 / Modem Problem

I'm using Slackware, and get a similar set of `modprobe can't
locate`'s. only mine are: pf-4, pf-5 and pf-3; in that order.

I don't think too much about it, because everything seems to be
working OK. They show up at boot time and in my /var/log/messages at
     seemingly random intervals.

     Any connection, I wonder?

Correct me if i'm wrong anyone, But think that you can get rid of this problem
by adding these three lines to your /etc/modules.conf file

alias ppp-compress-21 bsd_comp
alias ppp-compress-24 ppp_deflate
alias ppp-compress-26 ppp_deflate

Hope this helps,
-Brad

to configure the modem. When I check /var/log/messages, and 5 seconds after
"Serial connection established" I get the following:

connected to the ISP but when I start up Netscape and try to download an
external webpage, it reports that the page is not accessible. This is an Askey
Modem which the dealership thinks is safe for Linux.
